YEAR 3/TERM 1/PROJECT 1 TWO DIAGRAMMATIC DRAWINGS

Make two diagrammatic drawings, one describing the qualities you think essential in the making of a good interior and one describing the design process. Prepare a five minute verbal explanation of the drawings.

a. A good interior

1. New idea and own style

In my opinion, the most important quality of being a good interior is NEW IDEA AND OWN STYLE.

Firstly a successful space need to attract people to focus on it, it must have some new ideas can let people interested in it, even though using a very common material, use different way to make it together will get different feeling about it. It is a very important quality that can show the creativity of a good interior designer.

2. Main concept of a space

This is another very important quality of being a good interior. When people step into a space they need to know what is the theme of this space, in other words, they need to know what is this space used for,what the function of this space. A good theme can create a good atmosphere that can let people enjoy the space.

3. Reasonable function and structure

This is a basic quality that being a good interior. Even though in a same place, have a reasonable function and structure will help people to save space and get more convenient.

4. Good arrangement of light, furniture and material

Different combination of light, furniture and materials can get different atmosphere of a space.

A good interior need to control it, make those things harmonious.

5. Color relevance

Color easy to give people a deeply feeling, choosing right color can easily change people's opinions to a space visually. For example, if a space be painted full of vertical strips, it make people feel higher, in contrast with horizontal strips, it make people feel lower from visual angle. Of course, different color have different characteristics and it suit for different place. So, choose right color is a necessary quality of a good interior.

6.Contact with environment

The environment have two meanings, one is nature view, another is original resource. Firstly, a good interior need to combine with nature view as much as possible, nature view itself is a good decoration which also can provide sun light and some fresh feeling. Secondly, a good interior need to combine with outside of building style and value, it can let people know the theme of space more clearly.

7. Combination with cultural

Different country have different histories, so it birthed different country interior styles, some times we need to connect with different style that can suit for different place's people. Of course, different brand also have different cultures, so, a good interior need to base on the different culture background, let it can show what the style of this brand.

8. Balance among creativity, functionary and price

A good interior need to use less money to make better effect with powerful function.
